Job Title: Special Education Teacher

ICEF Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Resource Specialist Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality educational services to students with disabilities.

Job Summary:

The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for teaching students with special learning needs, developing and implementing individualized education programs, and collaborating with other instructional personnel to ensure student success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach students with special learning needs in subject matter areas, auditory and visual perceptual training, and fine and gross motor skill development.
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with other instructional personnel, including school psychologists, paraprofessionals, and school administrators, to ensure student success.
  • Manage compliance of accommodations and modifications for students with IEPs in the general education classroom and during Special Education service time.
  • Provide individual and group instruction in remediating student learning disabilities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in any field.
  • Preliminary Mild to Moderate Education Specialist Credential or Teacher Intern Credential.
  • Desire to teach in an urban school environment.
  • Confident in managing student behavior.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change easily.

Working Environment:

This position will work in a shared office space and will be required to visit the school sites on a frequent basis. When out on school sites, the following physical demands may be requested: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.

Education:

Required:

Bachelor's Degree in any field.

Preliminary Mild to Moderate Education Specialist Credential or Teacher Intern Credential.

Preferred:

Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Education, or related field.

Clear Mild to Moderate Education Specialist Credential.

Master's Degree in Special Education.

Continuing Educ./ Training:

As needed.

Certificate & Licenses:

Valid Driver's License.

Clearances:

Criminal Justice/

Fingerprint Clearance.

TB Clearance.

Salary:

Commensurate

with Experience.
