TRUE Property Insurance is a reciprocal insurer established to serve homeowners in storm-prone regions of Florida and other parts of the country. With a strong presence, the company has expanded its underwriting capacity and product offerings nationally.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Director of Actuarial Services to oversee the actuarial group and work closely with product and compliance teams to deliver best-in-class products that promote profitability and growth.
Main Responsibilities:
- Pricing Strategy: Develops and implements actuarial strategies aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements.
- Reinsurance Management: Assists in the annual reinsurance placement and ensures reinsurance costs are properly allocated within product pricing.
- Compliance and Data Calls: Ensures timely and accurate submission of data calls and collaborates with state departments on Market Conduct Exams.
- Reserving: Leverages the actuarial team to make recommendations on reserves and IBNR, completing annual reserve reviews and statutory filings.
- Team Development: Mentors and develops actuarial team members, leading by example and experience.
- Vendor Management: Manages vendor relationships, renews contracts, and vets potential vendors for future development.
Requirements:
- Professional Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in Property & Casualty insurance, preferably with homeowners products.
- Educational Background: A bachelor's degree with quantitative analytical knowledge, along with an Actuarial Designation (ACAS/FCAS).
- Critical Thinking: Identifies business problems, develops strategic frameworks, and analyzes state performance.
- Analytical Rigor: Recommends improvements based on analysis.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: A self-starter who capitalizes on opportunities and successfully implements plans.
- Effective Communication: Communicates across various media and leads high-performing teams.
- Mentorship Experience: Experience mentoring senior and junior team members.
- Software Experience: Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, SQL, SAS, R, Python, Tableau, GCP, or other programming/data query/reporting tools.
Salary: $175,000 - $225,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
