Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Polysomnographic Technologist to join our team at Henry Ford Health System. As a Polysomnographic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies, preparing patients and equipment for testing, and interpreting results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and document sleep studies, monitoring patients throughout testing and intervening as necessary to resolve patient needs or equipment issues.
  • Collect, analyze, and integrate patient information to identify and meet patient-specific needs, scoring, interpreting, and reporting results of sleep studies.
  • Prepare, calibrate, repair, and maintain equipment required for testing, determining and reporting needed repairs or replacements.
  • Interview patients to determine sleep disorder issues and explain testing procedures.
Requirements
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience, or Associate's degree/Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.
  • BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • One or more of the following certifications: Certified Polysomnographic Tech from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists, or Registered Polysomnographic Technologist from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists.
