General Surgeon Opportunity at UNC Health Care

UNC Health Care is seeking a skilled General Surgeon to join our team at UNC Health Johnston. As a General Surgeon, you will provide high-quality medical services to patients, including abdominal surgery, breast surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and robotic surgery.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional medical services to general surgery patients
  • Exercise independent professional judgment in the care and treatment of patients
  • Order and prescribe medical treatment, diagnostic testing, nursing care, and other health and medical services
  • Consult and counsel with patients and families
  • Provide health and medical education to patients and families
  • Refer patients as needed to appropriate medical specialists and other healthcare professionals
  • Document medical and clinical care in the patient's medical record
  • Assign the appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes to permit third-party insurance billing
  • Supervise other medical professionals
  • Adhere to the principles of medical ethics
Requirements:
  • Unrestricted MD/DO license in NC or eligible
  • ACLS certification
  • DEA certification
  • BC/BE by the American Board of Surgery
