Job Summary

The X-Ray Technologist PRN position at Florida Bone and Joint Specialists is a radiology technologist who performs x-rays, CT scans, and/or MRI's within the practice. This is a PRN position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Input patient information accurately and efficiently.
  • Adjust and maintain imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Precisely follow orders from physicians on what areas of the body to image.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, including taking a medical history and answering questions about the procedure.
  • Protect the patient by shielding exposed areas that do not need to be imaged.
  • Position the patient and the equipment to get the correct image.
  • Operate the computerized equipment to take the images.
  • Work with physicians to evaluate the images and to determine whether additional images need to be taken.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality; comply with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice.
  • Attend CPR and complete OSHA training programs as required.
Minimum Requirements
  • General knowledge and experience of X-ray orthopedic positioning.
  • Associate degree.
  • ARRT License – Certified X-ray technician.
  • Minimum one year of experience.
  • HIPAA Certification.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Position requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing or sitting for extensive periods of time. Employee will occasionally be asked to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds. Normal visual acuity and hearing are required.

Employee will have some exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances (ie: cleaning products), medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
