Position Summary:

Dometic is in search of a skilled electronic control engineer with expertise in automotive or consumer electronics. This role involves collaboration with various teams and suppliers to develop electronics for RV climate systems. The selected candidate will serve as the technical lead for projects, defining technical behaviors and requirements to facilitate the development of unified controls across our product range. The focus will be on delivering solutions that surpass the expectations of manufacturers and end-users alike. Familiarity with embedded electrical and communication systems, as well as the software that operates them, is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and disseminate electronic control strategies and standards for climate systems.
  • Integrate electronic solutions into new product designs.
  • Conduct system-level design evaluations considering cost, quality, and time for electronic projects.
  • Collaborate with engineers to conduct and execute technical hardware and software design reviews.
  • Ensure timely completion of project development activities, meeting all requirements including cost, quality, and performance benchmarks.
  • Lead system validation throughout the concept, design, and product validation phases.
  • Oversee electronic requirements and design failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).
  • Assist in defining and identifying system architectures, including electrical and mechanical integration.
  • Design functional electrical circuits and update software for prototypes.
  • Define the electrical interface system for products, manage configuration files, and ensure compliance with product specifications.
  • Responsible for subsystem-level design requirements, product descriptions, and DFMEA.
  • Manage interfaces with all subsystems in accordance with the overall system solution.
  • Support the definition and execution of system validation plans.
  • Coordinate with agencies for certification and ensure traceability to verification processes.
  • Take ownership of technical concepts, solutions, and risk mitigation plans, and assist in creating cost estimates for proposals.
  • Provide clear and timely communication across all levels of the organization.
  • Assess the impact and risks associated with decisions made.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, systems, computer, aerospace, or software engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in embedded system design, hardware, or software development.
  • Experience with consumer or automotive networks, including various wireless technologies, TCP/IP, Ethernet, CAN, and/or LIN.
  • Familiarity with agency standards such as IEC, CSA, or ISO.
