Precision Instruments Maintenance Specialist

As a member of the Army National Guard, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of precision instruments and equipment. As a Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment Maintenance Support Specialist, you will be responsible for calibrating and repairing a wide range of devices, including weapon-aiming devices, weather instruments, and radiation-detecting equipment. Your work will involve using blueprints and schematics to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical and electronic systems. You will also have the opportunity to develop your skills in mathematics, science, and electronics, and to work with a variety of tools and equipment. With your training, you will be qualified to pursue a career as an instrument mechanic or calibration specialist, and may even be able to earn certification as an Electronics Technician Association specialist. In the Army National Guard, you will have the opportunity to earn a regular paycheck while learning valuable job skills, and you will also be eligible for tuition assistance to help you pursue further education or training. Your job training will consist of 10 weeks of Basic Training, where you will learn basic Soldiering skills, and 34 weeks of Advanced Individual Training and on-the-job instruction, including practice in repairing precision instruments. This training will provide you with the skills and knowledge you need to succeed in this critical role, and will give you the opportunity to develop your skills and experience in a real-world setting.

Key Responsibilities:
