As an Acoustics & Vibration Engineer - TS I, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the design and development of Gulfstream's state-of-the-art aircraft, ensuring they meet the highest standards of acoustic performance.
Key Skills Required:
We are looking for a candidate with strong analytical capabilities and sound engineering judgment to facilitate aircraft development. This includes:
- Reviewing engineering designs
- Conducting acoustic data acquisition and analysis
- Generating comprehensive reports in collaboration with various engineering teams
Familiarity with tools such as ArtemiS Suite, Matlab, LabVIEW, Python, Mescope, and/or SEA is preferred. Experience in data acquisition and signal processing is also advantageous.
Core Responsibilities:
- Execute acoustic and vibration engineering tasks to support the design and development of Gulfstream's exceptionally quiet aircraft.
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of design, analysis, and liaison engineering to support Gulfstream's product development and production.
Essential Duties:
- Prepare engineering reports that clearly document findings and provide actionable recommendations.
- Effectively tackle open-ended engineering challenges.
- Support acoustic and vibration testing in Gulfstream's Acoustic Test Facility and during field evaluations of Gulfstream aircraft.
Education and Experience:
A Bachelor's Degree is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that enables the successful performance of the essential functions of the role. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years in a specific technical discipline or 10 years of broad engineering experience across various technical fields. Experience credit for related advanced degrees is limited to 2 years for a Master's and 4 years for a PhD in relevant fields.
Additional Responsibilities:
Contribute to the planning, development, and coordination of significant engineering projects. Provide specialized technical support to team members and utilize advanced techniques to devise solutions for complex problems. Work independently under limited supervision, ensuring that work aligns with overall objectives and is reviewed for accuracy.
Continuous Improvement:
Actively seek to enhance daily processes and ensure compliance with customer requirements. Stay updated on advancements in the field of specialty and related aircraft domains to recommend innovations that improve the quality and effectiveness of Gulfstream's products.
Other Qualifications:
An advanced degree in an engineering-related field is preferred. The level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this position will be determined by each discipline.
