Occupational Therapist PRN Job Summary

HCA Florida Kendall Hospital is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist PRN to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist PRN, you will provide high-quality patient care by managing the complete process of occupational therapeutic care for an assigned group of patients. You will work closely with the physician and patient care team to develop and implement individualized care plans, focusing on goal achievement, patient engagement, and positive patient experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide evaluations and treatment interventions within the scope of practice established by law and professional code of ethics.
  • Assess and evaluate therapeutic/rehabilitative/functional status, participate in patient placement, and develop the total plan of care.
  • Provide purposeful and skilled interaction care, using procedures and techniques to produce a change in condition/function consistent with the physician's plan of care.
  • Observe and report patient's reaction to treatment and changes in patient's condition.
  • Communicate pertinent payor needs/requirements to physician, treatment team, patient, and patient's family in a timely manner.
  • Prioritize caseload, determine daily staffing needs, and coordinate assignments/handoffs.
Requirements:
  • Vocational School Graduate
  • Occupational Therapy (OT), or Registered Occupational Therapist (ROT)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support, or CPR must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

HCA Florida Kendall Hospital is a 417-bed acute care facility located in west Miami-Dade County. Our services include trauma, burn, surgical, women's and children's services, behavioral health, and diagnostic services. We have two full-service free-standing ER facilities and are a Level I Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center certified by the Florida Department of Health. We are verified as a Level I Adult Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons and certified by the Joint Commission as a Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center. We are one of five American Burn Association's verified Burn Centers in the state.
