Job Description:

As a Manufacturing Specialist at 3M, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse team of innovative professionals to drive process improvements and ensure high-quality products.

The Impact You'll Make:

  • Lead the team to identify and implement manufacturing process controls to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Foster and develop new characterization methodologies to improve processes and reduce costs.
  • Identify, lead, and implement continuous improvement projects targeting cost reduction, cycle time, and quality improvements.
  • Oversee site analytical equipment, including SEM, XRD, and X-ray (2D/3D), to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Develop and implement automated processes to support production and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with state and internal rules and regulations for radiation safety of x-ray equipment and serve as a site Radiation Safety Officer.
  • Engage with the customer base as the site subject matter expert in process and materials.
  • Contribute to the Site Leadership Team as a direct contributor.

Your Skills and Expertise:

  • PhD in Chemical, Ceramic, or Material Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • OR Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical, Ceramic, or Material Engineering from an accredited institution with three (3) years of Production Management, Process Management, and/or R&D experience.
  • Masters degree or higher in Chemical, Ceramic, or Material Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Experience with X-ray Computed Tomography and VG Studio MAX software is a plus.
  • Black Belt, Lean, and Six Sigma certification.

Work Environment:

Work location: Clarkston, GA.

Travel: May include up to 5% domestic.

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized.

Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status.
