About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join our team at Westwood Professional Services, Inc. in Denver, CO. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, including plant layout, electrical collection system design, and system optimization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop commercial, distribution, and utility-scale solar power generation systems
  • Coordinate with senior engineers and project managers to maintain firm standards and consistency
  • Develop and implement electrical engineering solutions for solar PV projects
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with local jurisdiction requirements and environmental constraints
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Four (4) years of experience in the design of commercial, distribution, and utility-scale solar power generation systems
  • Proficiency in NEC and NESC Code
  • Experience with DC and MVAC electrical collection system design and conductor sizing
  • Knowledge of solar PV technology and electrical equipment
  • Proficiency in PVSyst and SAM PV production modeling software
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office
  • Licensure/certifications: EIT (Engineer in Training) license in NCEES (National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying)
