Job Overview

Type Six Design & Development is in search of an Architectural Associate (Architectural Staff Level I-II) to enhance our design team. This role demands proficiency in generating precise construction documents promptly and effectively. Strong communication skills and a passion for learning in a team-oriented environment are vital. This position offers a unique chance to engage with a dynamic design team and expand architectural expertise across various commercial project types. You will be involved in all stages of a project, from initial design through to construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate architectural drawings and documents utilizing CAD software such as Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Prepare comprehensive working sets of construction drawings, including:
    • Dimension Plans
    • Elevations
    • Sections
    • Schedules
    • Callout Details
    • Specifications
  • Interpret rough sketches and specifications provided by Engineers and Architects.
  • Revise and modify drawings to rectify deficiencies or errors under the supervision of senior staff.
  • Create presentation boards and materials for client and municipal reviews that are clear, concise, and visually appealing.
  • Collaborate with team members to design, layout, and detail components to address design challenges or construction issues.
  • Prepare designs for evaluation by engineers, clients, and consultants.
  • Investigate building codes, municipal regulations, space, and site requirements, along with other technical documents to understand their impact on architectural designs.
  • Revit rendering skills are an advantage.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture is required.
  • 1-3+ years of experience in architecture or related fields.
  • Proficient knowledge of Revit is essential.
  • Basic understanding of construction practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities to foster relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Capacity to work independently with proven organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines and accurately complete assigned tasks.
  • Integrity and trustworthiness are essential, setting a positive example for others.
  • Eligibility to work in the US and fluency in English are required. Sponsorship is not available at this time.
