About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Recreation Assistant to join our team at East Boston Neighborhood Health Center. As a key member of our PACE Center, you will be responsible for overseeing and implementing a therapeutic activity program that caters to the diverse needs of our participants.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in recreation therapy or a related field, with experience working with elders or other frail populations. A Nursing assistant certification is a plus, and Activities Assistant Certification (AAC) is required at the time of hire or commitment to complete within 6 months.
Responsibilities
- Conduct arts and crafts groups, exercise sessions, cognitive activities, and music programs
- Makes contributions of activity ideas for incorporation in monthly activities calendars
- Begins activities on time and is prepared with necessary materials
