Strategic Programs Manager

The University of Arkansas is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Programs Manager to join the Indigenous Food and Agriculture Initiative (IFAI) team. As a key member of the School of Law team, the Strategic Programs Manager will work closely with the IFAI executive leadership team to build national work associated with IFAI.
Key Responsibilities:- Identify funding sources and develop/draft project proposals to support existing and planned program activities across IFAI's portfolio.
- Work closely with IFAI's Budget Director, Program Operations Manager, and key central campus partners to develop and implement grant proposals.
- Develop and maintain working knowledge of University of Arkansas financial management systems, including Workday.
- Interface with funder grant management platforms and assist in relationship management with IFAI funders.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
- Grant writing experience, preferably focused on agriculture, food systems, and/or Tribal Nations.
- A proven track record of securing new funding opportunities.
- Previous experience in writing and securing federal grant and cooperative agreement funding.
- Demonstrated proficiency in research, including the appropriate and accurate use of publicly available data to demonstrate a need for sustained funding.
- Three to five years experience as a successful grant writer.
- Master's degree or J.D. degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
- Demonstrated success in individual grant awards over $100,000.
- Knowledge of grant application processes, scoring criteria, and funding cycles, particularly from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's agencies.
- Familiarity with Workday and StreamlyneResearch.
The University of Arkansas offers a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $80,000, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including university contributions to health, dental, life, and disability insurance, tuition waivers for employees and their families, 12 official holidays, immediate leave accrual, and a choice of retirement programs with university contributions ranging from 5 to 10% of employee salary.
