About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver Assistant to join our team at Community Living Centers, Inc. As a Caregiver Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to adults with developmental disabilities in a residential AFC environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meal Preparation and Household Chores: Assist with meal preparation, laundry, and light household chores to maintain a clean and comfortable living environment.
  • Activities of Daily Living: Support consumers with activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and other daily living tasks.
  • Health and Safety Monitoring: Monitor the health and safety of consumers and take necessary actions to ensure their well-being.
  • Outings and Transportation: Accompany consumers on outings and provide transportation as needed.
  • Medical Appointments: Assist consumers with medical appointments and provide support during medical procedures.
  • Culture of Gentleness/Gentle Teaching: Demonstrate knowledge of the Culture of Gentleness/Gentle Teaching approach and apply it in daily interactions with consumers.
Requirements
  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication skills and be able to interact effectively with consumers, staff, and external partners.
  • Reliable Transportation: Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to transport consumers as needed.
  • Certifications and Training: Possess certifications in M.O.R.C, Bloodborne Pathogens, CPR/First Aid, and Recipient Rights.
  • Education: Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Lifting Ability: Be able to lift 50 pounds or more as needed.
