Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Specialist to join our team at Albany Med. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing complex laboratory tests and procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures, including blood banking, coagulation, and molecular diagnostics.
  • Operate and maintain complex laboratory equipment, including automated analyzers and microscopes.
  • Document test results and quality control data accurately and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely test results.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or related field.
  • Certification as a Clinical Laboratory Technician or Technologist by the New York State Education Department.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
Working Conditions
  • Work in a laboratory setting with exposure to chemicals and biological hazards.
  • Stand for long periods and lift heavy equipment.
  • Work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
