Reel Fathers Rights, a prominent family law firm in Southern California, is seeking a legal secretary to enhance our team. In this role, you will undertake a variety of administrative and legal responsibilities, including:
  • Administrative Duties: Manage phone communications, schedule appointments, maintain the office calendar, handle email correspondence, file legal documents, and perform other administrative tasks as required.
  • Client Interaction: Serve as the initial point of contact for clients, addressing basic legal inquiries and directing them to the appropriate attorney when necessary.
  • Document Preparation: Assist in drafting legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests under attorney supervision.
  • Legal Research: Conduct research on case law and legal precedents as requested by attorneys.
  • Financial Management: Oversee client billing and maintain the firm’s financial records.
  • Case File Management: Ensure case files are organized, track important deadlines, and guarantee timely filing of necessary documents with the court.
  • Court Support: Accompany attorneys to court hearings and provide necessary administrative assistance.
To excel in this position, you should possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities. Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures is essential, and experience in family law is advantageous. Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and legal case management software, is required.
