The successful candidate will serve as a technical liaison among customers, sales, technical services, and mill operations, focusing on product quality to support both new and existing business opportunities.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials or Metallurgical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in research, operations, quality assurance, product development, or manufacturing
  • Proven track record in applying Lean Six Sigma methodologies to enhance product performance and reliability
  • Experience in failure analysis and root cause investigation within metallurgy or steel manufacturing
  • Familiarity with flat-rolled steel products
  • Understanding of quality systems and processes
  • Strong statistical analysis skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree
  • Experience with SAP and MES systems

YOUR ROLE:
  • Lead the development of advanced high-strength steel (AHSS) and API pipe & tube steel grades
  • Drive product and process optimization initiatives
  • Facilitate customer qualifications, product approvals, and capability trials
  • Conduct mechanical property failure investigations and root cause analyses
  • Evaluate customer and industry material specifications to ensure compliance with dimensional, chemical, and mechanical standards
  • Act as a technical liaison for new business opportunities and production orders, focusing on product quality
  • Review and configure hot rolled business orders in SAP
  • Develop and maintain quality management systems, ensuring compliance through regular audits
