Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Licensed Pharmacy Technician to support our operations at Sudbury Pharmacy Inc. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth delivery of pharmaceutical services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle incoming calls and accurately document all pertinent patient details.
  • Assess and verify prescription information received through various channels including in-person, telephone, fax, or electronically.
  • Provide pharmaceutical services by preparing and dispensing medications and related supplies to patients under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Process prescription orders and prepare them for pharmacist review.
  • Enhance your understanding of the products and services offered by the pharmacy to assist customers effectively.
  • Monitor inventory levels of pharmaceutical supplies and initiate orders as directed by the pharmacist.
  • Contribute to the quality improvement initiatives to align with company standards and accreditation requirements.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the pharmacy, including dusting shelves and disposing of waste appropriately.
  • Restock pharmacy supplies such as labels, papers, and containers.
  • Assist customers at the point of sale, processing prescriptions and over-the-counter purchases.
  • Prepare and submit insurance claims, verifying payments and resolving issues with insurance providers as necessary.
  • Adhere to all relevant company policies, procedures, and patient care protocols, as well as comply with government regulations and professional standards.
  • Engage in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with industry standards and practices.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred experience of at least 2 years in a pharmacy setting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Familiarity with medication brand and generic names.
  • Understanding of medical terminology.

Licensure and Certification:

  • MA Registered Technician License is mandatory.
  • National Certification (PTCB) is required.

Physical Requirements: This position involves standing and walking, as well as operating office and pharmacy equipment. Occasionally, the role may require lifting or moving items weighing up to 40 pounds. Visual capabilities must include reading and peripheral vision.
