We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at UofL Health. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operative area of the patient, drapes sterile field, and maintains an aseptic environment by practicing sterile technique throughout the surgical procedure.
- Pass instruments, sponges, and sutures to the surgeon and surgical assistants, counts needles, sponges, and instruments at appropriate intervals, and identifies and monitors all medications.
- Receive and handle surgical specimens as directed by the surgeon.
- Prepare the operating room for cases by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to the type of case and assists with room turnover.
- Institute cleaning, reprocessing, and storage of instruments and equipment.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program.
- Basic Life Saving (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association.
