About the Role:

The Lead Caregiver is a key member of our care team, responsible for providing supervisory support and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to our residents. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and a passion for delivering exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervisory support to care team members, including attendance management, shift coordination, and open shift messaging.
  • Support team members in providing Activities of Daily Living (ADL) care and services to residents, including bathing, grooming, and personal care.
  • Encourage resident participation in life enrichment programming and ADLs, promoting a sense of community and engagement.
  • Assist with meal service in the dining room, coaching team members on hospitality standards.
  • Accurately document care and services provided to residents, reviewing care manager documentation throughout the shift.
  • Ensure compliance with Sunrise's Timekeeping and Meal/Rest Period policies, monitoring team member break schedules and durations.
  • Display flexibility in work schedules, working holidays, evenings, weekends, and additional shifts as needed.
  • Prepare for shifts by obtaining resident group assignments, printing, and distributing daily assignment sheets to team members.
  • Participate in crossover meetings, sharing and receiving pertinent information with other Lead Care Managers.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Cross-trained and credentialed to safely administer medications during times of high volume or unexpected absence.
  • Lead by example in clocking in/out and taking proper meal/rest breaks.
  • Participate in group interview processes, including job preview videos and community tours.
  • Support the onboarding of new team members, including shadowing and skills demonstrations.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
  • Report incidents and complete necessary paperwork immediately.
  • Communicate observed or suspected resident changes in condition to the department care coordinator.
  • Prevent and handle conflicts by working with the team towards a solution.
  • Contribute to care manager annual performance reviews by providing feedback to the department care coordinator.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED strongly preferred and may be required per state regulations.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with care managers, community managers, residents, and family members.
  • In states where applicable, must maintain applicable certifications.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Medication Management Certificate required, with ongoing training and re-education per Sunrise and state requirements.
  • Previous experience working with seniors and a desire to serve and care for seniors.
  • Demonstrates leadership competencies.
