Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Imaging Physicist to lead our team at Radcom, a ONE Physics Partner. Based in Lubbock, TX, with additional hubs in Houston, Austin, and El Paso, TX, this role offers a unique opportunity to drive excellence in diagnostic medical physics.

About the Job

The Senior Diagnostic Medical Physicist will be responsible for evaluating imaging systems across various modalities to ensure compliance with state regulations, accreditation requirements, and relevant practice standards. This involves assessing image quality, providing consultation on facility design, shielding requirements, and radiation safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine audits of compliance records related to equipment registration, regulations, and Radiation Protection Programs.
  • Evaluate and characterize image quality to ensure optimal performance levels.
  • Consult with clients on facility design, shielding requirements, patient and occupational radiation exposure.
  • Review technologist quality control programs and oversee annual performance evaluations of radiologic imaging systems.
  • Attend scheduled hospital meetings, such as the Radiation Safety Committee and Radiation Protocol Committee.
  • Advise and consult with staff on occupational and patient over-exposures, clinical protocol management, dose assessment, and review of Radiation Protection Program Elements.

Requirements:

  • A board certification by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Medical Physics or board eligibility.
  • Clinical experience in diagnostic imaging, including general radiation safety, development, and review of Operating, Safety, and Emergency Procedures.
  • Technical experience and understanding of state regulations, ACR, and TJC criteria, process, and compliance.
  • Familiarity with applicable regulatory guides and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Salary Range:$110,000 - $140,000 per year, depending on qualifications and location.
