Job Summary:The Emergency Department Technician position is responsible for assisting ER staff in providing the best possible patient care. This includes performing administrative and clerical tasks, responding to patient inquiries, and assisting with patient care plans.
Key Responsibilities:- Clean treatment rooms between patients and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Stock treatment rooms according to supply plan and monitor equipment for failures.
- Identify and perform emergency safety procedures, including removing objects from rooms that may be used for self-harm.
- Provide surveillance to patients for safety and transport patients as directed.
- Report observations and changes in patient condition to ensure professional assessment.
- Perform I&O recording, check vital signs, and collect specimens.
- Effectively communicate with nursing staff, physicians, and other departments to provide excellent patient care.
- Certified Nursing Assistant certification or EMT Course completion, preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- CPR/BLS certification required or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
- 1+ years of related work experience required.
