Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at the University of Oklahoma.
Job Summary:The Registered Nurse will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, and contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge and practices.
Responsibilities:- Assist physicians during patient examinations, prepare patients for procedures, and ensure all necessary information is available.
- Collect and prepare samples for analysis or shipment, including blood, urine, and other specimens.
- Take and record vital signs, such as heart rate, blood pressure, and body temperature.
- Follow up with patients, answer routine questions, and collect laboratory reports and data.
- Administer medications, EKGs, audiograms, pulmonary testing, vision testing, ear lavage, cauterization, wound care, and IV fluids as ordered.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate treatment plans and provide efficient quality patient care.
- Provide educational information to patients, families, or caregivers.
- Respond to and intervene in emergency situations, such as anaphylaxis, hypoglycemia, hypotension, hemorrhage, and respiratory distress.
- Direct and evaluate the work of personnel, including Clinic Clerks, Medical Assistants, and other Nurses.
- Act as a lead employee when work performed requires little or no direct supervision.
- Assist with conscious sedation of patients.
- Maintain procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste and drugs.
- Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree in Nursing.
- No experience required.
The Registered Nurse will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, frequently exposed to odors and potential exposure to infections or diseases.
Certifications or Licenses:State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse Licensure or the ability to obtain licensure within 90 days of employment.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
