About the Role
The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team at the Virginia Tech Department of Athletics. As a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment in our facilities and venues.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide housekeeping services to ensure a clean and safe environment in offices, locker rooms, meeting rooms, public areas, bathrooms, housekeeping areas, and other assigned spaces.
- Perform floor maintenance, cleaning, dusting, and trash removal duties.
- Report any needed equipment or building repairs and unsafe or unusual housekeeping situations.
- Care for and handle housekeeping supplies, equipment, and assigned keys.
- Occasionally assist with event preparation and setup.
Requirements
- Ability to comprehend and follow instructions and use cleaning chemicals and agents safely.
- Ability to walk, stand, and climb stairs extensively.
- Ability to safely move or handle up to 35 pounds.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills for interaction with employees, students, visitors, and spectators.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience with various cleaning methods.
- Housekeeping or cleaning experience in an institutional or commercial setting.
- Ability to perform general maintenance on a golf cart.
