Overview:
The Patient Transport Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the transport personnel at UF Health.

This role ensures a seamless and effective operation by organizing the movement of patients across the facility, while also providing essential supplies and equipment for optimal functionality.

The leader is tasked with developing staffing schedules, managing attendance and scheduling requests, and fostering communication and collaboration through team meetings. Performance evaluations are initiated and conducted by the leader in conjunction with management review. The leader actively encourages team cohesion, engagement, and professional communication among colleagues from various departments. Regular rounds are performed by the leader to verify compliance with patient transport standards and practices.

The Patient Transport Team Leader also contributes to efficient staffing by stepping in to assist with transport duties when necessary, ensuring that operations and workflow remain uninterrupted.

Performance evaluations are carried out in partnership with the Patient Transport Manager.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
High School diploma or GED. A minimum of two years of supervisory or leadership experience in a large organization is required, with at least one year specifically in Patient Transport. Preference is given to candidates with three years of prior supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.

Previous experience should reflect the ability to handle unexpected situations calmly and effectively, prioritizing patient welfare.


Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:

Employees in this position:
Will operate vehicles for designated business purposes as a 'non-frequent driver'.
