We are seeking a skilled and certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at N2S Healthcare Staffing Solutions, LLC. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of surgical procedures, excellent attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
Responsibilities:- Pre-Surgical Preparation: Ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are sterile and ready for surgical procedures.
- Assisting Surgeons: Pass instruments, hold retractors, and anticipate the needs of surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures.
- Maintaining a Sterile Field: Ensure a sterile environment throughout surgical procedures to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
- Patient Preparation: Wash and disinfect incision sites, position patients on the operating table, and cover them with sterile drapes.
- Specimen Handling: Handle specimens obtained during surgical procedures and ensure they are properly labeled and sent to the laboratory for analysis.
- Equipment Maintenance: Monitor and maintain surgical equipment and instrumentation to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Patient Transportation: Assist in the transportation of patients to and from the operating room and ensure their comfort and safety.
- Compliance and Collaboration: Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as regulatory guidelines, to ensure compliance and patient safety. Collaborate with other members of the surgical team, including surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists, to provide optimal patient care.
- Certification: Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from an accredited program.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Surgical Technologist in a hospital or surgical center setting.
- Surgical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility: Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Specialized Training: Additional certifications or specialized training in specific surgical specialties (e.g., orthopedics, neurosurgery, cardiovascular surgery).
- Electronic Medical Records: Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- CPR Certification: CPR certification.
