Job Title: Computed Tomography Technologist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Computed Tomography Technologist to join our team at Stony Brook University Hospital. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing radiographic exams for patients of all age groups, utilizing advanced imaging technology to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform radiographic exams using computed tomography (CT) scanners, ensuring accurate and safe imaging procedures.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of CT technology, including image acquisition and processing techniques.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and imaging outcomes.
  • Meet regulatory requirements for pre-employment screenings and maintain necessary certifications and licenses.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree or completed hospital-based program in Radiology required.
  • Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology preferred.
  • American Registry Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in CT license required.
  • New York State Department of Health Diagnostic Radiographic Technologist License mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years' experience specializing in CT preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience specializing in Computed Tomography (CT) Technology and cross-section anatomy.

Physical Demands:

  • Heavy lifting and bending.
  • Long periods of standing.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to see and read well.
  • Ability to hear, listen, and follow instructions.
