We are seeking a highly skilled Neonatal Hospitalist Physician to join our team at MedChi, The Maryland State Medical Society. As a Neonatal Hospitalist, you will be responsible for providing advanced neonatal care to critically ill newborns in our state-of-the-art Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Key Responsibilities- Frontline Patient Management: Provide direct patient care to newborns in the NICU, including pre-rounding, work rounds with the clinical team, and safe handoff at change of shift.
- High-Risk Deliveries and Resuscitations: Attend high-risk deliveries and lead neonatal resuscitations, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.
- Common Neonatal Care Procedures: Demonstrate competency in common neonatal care procedures, including endotracheal intubation, thoracotomy tube placement, umbilical line placement, and more.
- Inter- and Intra-Hospital Transport: Provide neonatal care during inter- and intra-hospital transport of critically ill newborns, ensuring their safe and timely transfer to other facilities.
- Quality Improvement and Education: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and educational activities to maintain competency in current concepts in neonatal care.
- MD or DO Degree: Possess a medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Licensed in Maryland: Be licensed to practice medicine in the state of Maryland.
- Pediatric Residency Program: Graduate of an accredited pediatric residency program.
- Board Certification: Be board certified in pediatrics or neonatology.
