PET/CT Technologist Job Description

RAYUS Radiology is seeking a skilled PET/CT Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for operating PET/CT scanners to produce high-quality images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Care: Provide exceptional patient care and support throughout the PET/CT imaging process, ensuring patients are comfortable and informed throughout the procedure.
  • Imaging Procedures: Perform routine and advanced PET/CT imaging procedures on designated portions of the body, utilizing dose reduction techniques as appropriate.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain PET/CT equipment in good working order, cleaning and disinfecting equipment after each use.
  • Quality Control: Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly quality control procedures on PET/CT equipment to ensure compliance with ACR and AOA guidelines.
  • Department Support: Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual, monitoring medical supply inventory, and performing daily and weekly departmental surveys to ensure compliance with radiation standards.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Certifications: ARRT (R) certification in PET/CT required; additional certifications may be preferred.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in PET/CT imaging or a related field.

Working Conditions: This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, 6:30am - 5:00pm. The position will provide coverage in the Springfield, MA and Hartford, CT areas.
