Senior Grants and Contracts Accountant Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Grants and Contracts Accountant to join our team at Greenlife Healthcare Staffing.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in federal, state, and city grants budgeting and reporting. They will be responsible for coordinating accounting duties related to VIP -Better Haven Joint Venture with the VIP Accounting Team.

This role requires excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with others. The successful candidate will be able to develop contract performance tracking reports and provide program directors with monthly performance reports.

The salary range for this position is estimated to be around $83,000-$86,000 per year, depending on location and experience.

About the Job

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing and preparing regular and special internal accounting/financial analysis and required reports by funders/programs
  • Developing a contract performance tracking report with a budget to actual detail variance analysis and commentary
  • Providing program directors with information monthly performance report with budget to actual detail variance analysis and commentary
  • Preparing and monitoring grant and contract cashflows
  • Analyzing monthly grant performance results to ensure expenditures are consistently aligned with grant and program budgets throughout the grant/fund period
  • Working with program managers to ensure accurate grant time tracking is maintained and reflected in the tracking system to ensure time allocations are accurately reflected in accounting records
  • Preparing all documentation required for timely and accurate submission of all monthly, quarterly, and annual grant and contract billing reports, vouchers, and invoices to funding sources including providing performance metrics, service units, and expenditures
  • Reviewing and reconciling and processing grants drawdowns
  • Entering and maintaining records of all program and administrative expenses by category, track expenditures, and report against budget projections
  • Providing grantees with required support documents as they are needed to comply with grant requirements
  • Familiar with Grants portal- HHS Accelerator, Passport, Grants gateway, PMS, SMS, etc.
  • Coordinating the development of grant budgets and monitoring budget vs actual grant expenses to determine if budget modifications are necessary
  • Maintaining contract files in accordance with funding agency standards
  • In consultation with the Director of Grants and Contracts, preparing and submitting grant budget modifications, as necessary
  • Assisting in the preparation of annual budget, forecasts, and variance analyses
  • Preparing/reviewing grant schedules, reconciliations, and close-out reports for month-end closing and analyzes GL accounts and Complete account reconciliations, process journal entries, and entire month end close process
  • Preparing and recording monthly Grant revenue and accrual/ reversal. Track all Grant payments and post accordingly
  • Preparing reconciliations and schedules for the annual audit
  • Preparing reconciliations and schedules for the funder audit
