  • Coordinating legal services required by the District, ensuring legal compliance and effective risk management.
  • Offering guidance, direction, and assistance to district staff regarding investigations and legal inquiries.
  • Drafting and issuing direct responses to individuals or entities not in compliance with District policies and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal advice and counsel to district administrators on a wide range of issues affecting the district's interests.
  • Develop and implement effective legal strategies to support district operations and goals.
  • Collaborate with district staff to identify and mitigate potential legal risks.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations affecting public education in Texas.

Requirements:

  • A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an American Bar Association (ABA)-accredited law school.
  • A valid license to practice law in the State of Texas.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible legal experience, with a focus on matters relevant to public education and district operations.
