Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Sample Librarian to join our team at Tom James Company. As a key member of our warehouse operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining a well-organized sample library, managing day-to-day showroom pulls, and ensuring seamless sample requests and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sample Library Management: Organize and maintain a well-stocked sample room across all product categories, ensuring easy access to samples for clients and sales teams.
  • Showroom Pulls: Manage day-to-day showroom pulls for in-person sample requests, as well as sample requests received from territory clientele.
  • Inventory Management: Conduct weekly sample inventory management, batching together replenishments from our sample distribution hub.
  • Sample Requests: Enter and track large sample material requests, including key assets such as fabric waterfalls, wallcovering tri-folds, and curated box sets.
  • Receiving and Shipping: Receive sample requests from Outside Sales and quickly and comprehensively fill and ship samples.
  • Office Supplies: Restock the showroom office supplies, including sample request forms, pencils, shopping bags, etc.
  • Merchandising: Perform daily merchandising initiatives, such as straightening displays, updating wallcovering boards, and replenishing leather and trim boards.
  • Sample Tagging and Hanging: Tag and hang new collections, and check discontinued lists from product managers to pull unneeded displays.
  • Warehouse Organization: Maintain a tidy and organized back room for efficient pulls.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience preferred, with experience in a warehouse setting or the interior design industry.
  • Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and ability to comfortably lift 20 pounds.
  • Personal Qualities: Ability to follow internal procedures and systems, ability to thrive in a multi-tasking environment with flexibility and resilience.
