Job Summary

Big River Steel is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Water Treatment Operator to join our team. As a Water Treatment Operator, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining water quality specifications for all production areas of the mill, as well as ensuring environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and quality requirements, as well as ResponsibleSteel standards.
  • Participate as a positive contributor and active team member, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Become fluent with the various safety requirements and facility locations comprising the water and wastewater systems.
  • Obtain and maintain active Basic Industrial Water Treatment License issued from the state of Arkansas.
  • Assist with maintenance of the water and wastewater systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Report all systems or equipment abnormalities and malfunctions immediately upon discovery.
Requirements
  • Ability to make safe, accurate, and timely decisions in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Eagerness to learn, adapt, and apply new knowledge to drive process improvements.
  • Reliable team player with excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Highly motivated and self-directed, with a willingness to put in extra hours as needed.
  • Experience with mobile equipment (Rough Terrain, Man Lift, Fork Lift, Carry Deck or Broaderson) is a plus.
  • Basic computer skills required.
