Job Summary

Swift Transportation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced CDL Instructor to join our team. As a CDL Instructor, you will be responsible for training students to become licensed commercial drivers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive training programs to ensure students possess the skills necessary to become licensed commercial drivers.
  • Train student drivers on performing safety inspections and navigating various driving scenarios, including upgrades and downgrades.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide feedback to ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Administer exams as needed, if certified by the state.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of OTR experience, unless state law requires additional years.
  • Ability to qualify as a Class A CDL driver by meeting company requirements.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates preferred.
  • Ability to work in all types of weather conditions and handle changing priorities.
  • Exceptional communication skills and self-motivation.
  • Ongoing education in teaching skills to maintain post-secondary education requirements.
  • Adherence to PTDI and CVTA standards and completion of American Association for Vocational School modules annually.
