Customs Enforcement Officer

Position Overview
Border Patrol Agents are responsible for identifying, preventing, and apprehending undocumented individuals, as well as intercepting smugglers and illegal substances at or near the international land borders of the United States.
Key Responsibilities
- Responding to alerts from electronic monitoring systems;
- Analyzing and following tracks, signs, and other physical indicators;
- Utilizing night vision equipment during nocturnal operations;
- Reacting to aerial sightings and other anti-smuggling efforts;
- Conducting inspections on farms, ranches, vehicles, and urban areas;
- Patrolling the international border and adjacent waterways using various government resources, which may include vehicles, horses, boats, all-terrain vehicles, snowmobiles, and motorcycles.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a citizen of the United States;
- Possess a valid driver's license;
- Be referred for selection before reaching the age of 40 (waivers available for veterans or those with prior federal law enforcement experience);
- Have lived in the U.S. for at least three of the last five years;
- Be qualified to carry a firearm;
- Be open to frequent travel, including potential extended domestic and international assignments;
- Successfully complete the required evaluations.
