Scope of WorkThe Registered Nurse (RN) will utilize the nursing process to provide professional nursing care, incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge patients. The RN will work under the direction of the Nurse Leader and adhere to Corewell Health policies and procedures.
The RN will partner with patients and families to develop a plan of care, utilizing patient input and goals to inform decision-making. The RN will also develop teaching strategies to educate patients and families, documenting education and learning in the patient's health record.

- Associate's degree in Nursing is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required within 5 years.
- Graduates from non-accredited nursing schools must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed healthcare role, and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) licensure is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Canadian Heart and Stroke is required upon hire.
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required within 6 months.
- Specialty certification is highly recommended within 2 years.
