Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Part-Time Faculty member to teach Art and Design Technical related coursework at San Jacinto College. The successful candidate will have a strong background in graphic design and teaching experience in an adult education environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Art and Design Technical related courses, including graphic design, visual communication, and related areas.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the College's goals and objectives.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback to students.
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide activities, including committee work and professional development.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • One year of teaching experience in graphic design or a related field, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Minimum three years of demonstrated practical work experience in design or a related field.
  • Evidence of an ongoing and active professional work record presented via a portfolio.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or equivalent in graphic design or a related field.
  • Two years of teaching experience in graphic design or a related field beyond graduate school.
  • Experience with developing multi-faceted professional design campaigns.
  • Expertise in two or more of the following areas: print design and typography, data storytelling/information graphics, responsive web design, responsive identities, information architecture, GUI design, motion graphics.
