The Nursing Supervisor at Betsy Ross Nursing & Rehab Center plays a crucial role in overseeing the nursing operations within the facility. During the initial hours of the shift, this position primarily supports the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Unit Manager on Wing 1 by performing essential RN duties such as admissions, assessments, and assisting in care planning. As the day progresses, the RN Supervisor will transition into the primary supervisory role, ensuring the smooth operation of the nursing department.
Key Responsibilities:- Organize, oversee, and supervise the activities and assignments of the nursing unit staff.
- Exhibit clinical expertise in accordance with established Nursing Practice standards.
- Identify and respond promptly to patient needs, ensuring quality care.
- Monitor, document, and observe vital signs, treatments administered, and patient responses.
- Administer medications and treatments as required.
- Effectively communicate and direct services or concerns to the appropriate team members, residents, families, or medical staff.
- Implement disciplinary actions as outlined in policy when necessary.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, physicians, and other service providers.
- Conduct RN assessments for residents following incidents or changes in their condition.
- Lead and manage emergency situations, including fire and elopement scenarios.
- Maintain accurate nursing reports, staffing sheets, and census rosters.
- Current and valid RN License in the State of New York.
- Experience with geriatric, short-term rehabilitation, or Alzheimer's patients is preferred.
- Progressive nursing experience with supervisory responsibilities is desirable.
- Commitment to delivering exceptional, compassionate care to each resident.
- Genuine interest in assisting the ill, injured, disabled, and elderly populations.
- Patience and willingness to support residents and colleagues alike.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Able to thrive under pressure, adaptable, and capable of working harmoniously with all staff members.
- COVID-19 vaccinations are encouraged but not mandated; vaccination availability is based on CDC eligibility guidance.
