About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Tech II to join our team at Peace Hospital, part of UofL Health. As a Mental Health Tech II, you will play a vital role in providing patient care to individuals in crisis, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients
  • Participate in the identification, management, and stabilization of crisis situations
  • Transport patients and remain with them during tests and procedures
  • Assist with physical examinations, safety searches, and discharging patients
  • Perform vital signs, oxygen saturation monitoring, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing
  • Collaborate with the nursing care team and other disciplines to provide comprehensive patient care
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in social and health sciences preferred
  • One year of inpatient or emergency psychiatry experience preferred; completion of a recognized Clinical Assistant or EMT Training Program also preferred
  • CPR certification accredited by the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers required
