Responsibilities

• Assist teachers and other support staff in implementing educational programs for students with special needs

• Provide individualized support to students, including academic, social, and emotional support

• Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment

• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop and implement behavioral support plans

• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a smooth and supportive learning environment

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 48 credit hours from an accredited college or university or a passing score on the Educational Testing Service (ETS) ParaPro assessment preferred

• Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs

• Valid driver's license or state-issued identification card

• Current CPR/AED certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or other similar organization

Preferred Qualifications

• Signing abilities for the hearing impaired program

• One year of experience working with special education children

Document(s) Required at Time of Application

• High school transcript or equivalent

• Copy of valid driver's license or state-issued identification card

• College transcript(s) from an accredited college or university, if applicable

• Current CPR/AED certificate

• Specific documented evidence of training and experience to satisfy qualifications
