About the Role:

  • As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist at Advocate Aurora Health, you will be responsible for acquiring quality diagnostic images for radiographic interpretation. This involves performing exams according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • You will determine appropriate radiographic technique based on anatomy and patient condition to obtain quality images for physicians and radiologists.
  • Securing history from patients regarding reasons for prescribed tests and recording it on the appropriate form for radiologists' review is also part of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing diagnostic images using various techniques such as positioning, immobilization, and support devices.
  • Maintaining records and ensuring compliance with regulations related to general x-ray accreditation.
  • Ensuring radiation protection and safety measures are in place and adhering to IEMA standards.
  • Providing quality patient care and supporting the operational needs of the clinic.

Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited AMA School of Radiology.
  • 0-1 year experience as a general radiographer.
  • AART certification or eligibility, IDNS accreditation in medical radiation technology, and CPR certification are required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to make independent professional decisions pertaining to high-quality patient care.
  • High degree of technical skills, minimal assistance needed to perform job activities, and practice high-quality patient care conscientiously.
  • Willingness to rotate shifts, weekends, and holidays, and work in a fast-paced environment with established time constraints.

Salary Information:

  • The estimated salary for this role is around $60,000-$80,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
