Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop battery casing and racking designs using 3D modeling software.
  • Perform thermal simulations of batteries under testing and operation, including system-level heating-current density analysis and electrical analysis tolerances.
  • Conduct DFMEA to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
  • Develop new concepts as required for business and certifications.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of design procedures, results, standards, and analysis.
  • Provide engineering insights, troubleshoot performance issues, and perform root-cause analysis.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of battery ESS certification requirements, 3D-2D CAD, GD&T, and thermal simulations.
  • Research-oriented mindset with interest in state-of-the-art battery technologies, scientific literature, and industry updates.
  • Familiarity and experience with handling batteries (modules), 3D printing, and dielectric material selection.
  • 1+ years of experience with using CFD simulation software like Solidworks/ANSYS/etc for thermal analysis.
  • Education: Current enrollment into a Masters/PhD battery-related program in Energy, Battery, Electrical, Materials, or Mechanical engineering or in similar fields.
  • Problem-solving skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Other skills: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with keen technical insights, excellent communication, and collaboration skills.
