Key Responsibilities

  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Prepare and serve a variety of food items, including hot and cold entrees, soups, salads, and desserts.
    • Operate kitchen equipment, including ovens, stoves, and dishwashers.
  • Cleanliness and Sanitation
    • Maintain a clean and safe food service environment, including the dining hall, kitchen, and storage areas.
    • Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures to prevent cross-contamination and foodborne illness.
  • Customer Service
    • Provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and staff, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
    • Ensure that all customers are satisfied with their dining experience.
  • Teamwork and Communication
    • Work collaboratively with other food service staff to ensure the smooth operation of the dining hall.
    • Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and supervisors to resolve issues and improve the dining experience.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary arts degree or experience preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
    • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
