Overview

Amedisys is a leading provider of home health, hospice, and high-acuity care, dedicated to helping patients and families navigate the complex healthcare system. We are seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team in a hospice care setting.

Responsibilities
  • Provides personal care services to patients, including assistance with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to perform specific techniques of personal and supportive care, such as ambulation, transferring, and positioning.
  • Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding, and performs homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
  • Observes, reports, and documents any changes in patient status, and follows specific written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse in accordance with the plan of care.
  • Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist, and performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant as per state certification/registration requirements.
  • CNA experience within the last two years, or completion of another training and competency program before providing services.
  • Must be able to successfully pass the competency program of the care center.
  • Current CPR certification.
