Whitsett, North Carolina, United States Butterfly Effects Full time
Job Overview

Position: Registered Behavior Technician

Role Summary:

At Butterfly Effects, our Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) engage with children on the autism spectrum, delivering Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services in various settings including homes, schools, and community environments.

Utilizing ABA methodologies, our technicians facilitate client development by promoting positive behavioral changes that enhance their success and independence both now and in the future.

RBTs build meaningful relationships with clients, assist with daily routines, and implement tailored behavior intervention strategies based on individual needs. These interactions help clients acquire essential skills such as communication, self-care, and socialization.

Work Schedule:

  • This is a part-time, permanent role aimed at making a significant difference in the lives of children and their families.
  • Consistent availability for a minimum of three days per week (Monday to Friday) is required.
  • Sessions typically occur between 2 PM and 7 PM, with flexibility based on client needs.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly wage ranges from $18 to $23, depending on experience, education, and ABA certifications.
  • Paid training for a 40-hour RBT course (subject to market conditions).
  • Reimbursement for travel time between client sessions for field technicians.
  • Opportunities for professional growth towards obtaining RBT certification and Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification with support and financial assistance.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Transportation: Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license with auto insurance are necessary for safe and timely travel to client locations.
  • Technology: A web-enabled device (laptop or tablet) is required for completing the hiring process and for documentation during sessions.
  • Certification: Active RBT certification is mandatory.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Empathy and compassion
  • Strong critical thinking abilities
  • Effective communication skills
  • Patience and resilience

Physical Requirements:

  • Working with clients in their natural environments may necessitate lifting or moving up to 50 lbs and maintaining various postures (kneeling, squatting, sitting, standing) for extended periods.

Application Process:

Our hiring process includes a video interview to assess qualifications and suitability for the role. Candidates who receive an offer will complete the pre-hiring process with our HR team, which includes necessary paperwork and background checks before commencing the 40-hour RBT training course.
