Position Overview: The Manufacturing Technician IV will engage with a variety of advanced technologies. This role offers a pathway for technical advancement or a transition into supervisory responsibilities. Depending on the assignment, the technologies involved may encompass:
Upstream Manufacturing Technologies:
- Single-Use Cell Culture Systems/Bioreactors up to 2000L
- Bacterial Fermentation Systems up to 2000L
- Continuous Flow Centrifuges
- Disposable Mixing Systems
- Cell Expansion and Propagation Techniques
- Banking and Cryopreservation of Cell Lines and Viruses
- Adherent Cell Technologies
- Microscopic Examination and Plate Counting
- Monitoring Cultures, Sampling, and Sterilization Processes
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and review standard operating procedures and production records.
- Support senior personnel in executing safety and quality assurance initiatives.
- Uphold the confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Document activities in compliance with cGMP regulations and ensure training for junior staff.
- Operate essential production equipment including Autoclaves and Analytical Scales.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Technician IV - Supervisory Pathway:
- Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Ability to mentor others in adhering to cGMP standards.
- Detail-oriented with strong self-discipline.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and nights, as necessary.
- Strong mathematical and computer skills.
- Experience in a cleanroom environment with appropriate gowning and aseptic techniques.
- Effective planning and time management skills, with the ability to collaborate across various roles within the manufacturing facility.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
The physical requirements for this position include:
- Prolonged standing, bending, and reaching.
- Manual dexterity for operating office equipment.
- Potential exposure to hazardous materials.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment.
- Capacity to lift/push/pull up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Regular attendance is essential.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 2 years of experience; OR
- Associate's degree with 4 years of experience; OR
- High School diploma/GED with 6 years of experience.
