About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Cardiac Care Specialist. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to telemetry patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care on the telemetry unit.
  • Perform focused interviews to identify specific patient needs and assess signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient's condition.
  • Monitor EKG output and keep doctors informed of any changes, record vital signs, and update patient medical records as needed.
  • Respond to patients experiencing cardiac pain, perform various diagnostic tests, and manage and administer medication.
  • Monitor and use the electrocardiogram, EKG, or ECG, educate patients on cardiac health, and communicate with patient's family when applicable.
  • Administer tests, analyze lab results, and report them to the physician, document the patient's plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventions.
  • Identify and prioritize actions based upon patient care requirements, perform interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and hospital policies and patient care outcome standards.
  • Provide a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic patient environment, revise the plan of care according to evaluation, changes in medical plan of care, effective/ineffective nursing interventions, and document patient's response to nursing and other interventions.
  • Use clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs of an assigned unit/floor, including established priorities, monitor safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
Requirements
  • Current Registered Nurse license for the state in which the nurse practices.
  • One year experience in Telemetry Preferred.
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
  • Current CPR if applicable.
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site.
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required.
  • Computer proficiency required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
