Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Water Treatment Systems Technician to join our team at Steel Dynamics Inc. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining all mechanical systems related to our Water Treatment Systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Assist in designing and monitoring preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Support the planning and scheduling of work activities for the maintenance team, ensuring timely completion of tasks and effective resource allocation.
  • Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication tasks as required.
  • Apply knowledge of lubrication techniques and applications to optimize equipment performance.
  • Understand and apply principles of hydraulics, fluid flow, and pneumatics to troubleshoot and repair complex systems.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical principles is required for safe and effective equipment operation.
  • Repair, install, and maintain Vertical Turbine, Horizontal Split Casing Air Diaphragm, and Peristaltic pumps.
  • Basic knowledge of water treatment systems is essential for effective maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient in Rigging, Crane, and Mobile equipment operations to ensure safe and efficient work practices.
  • Demonstrate ability to use Laser Alignment tools for precise equipment alignment.
  • Demonstrate a strong desire to set and attain goals, prioritizing maintenance activities to meet customer needs.
  • Read and interpret Process Flow and Process Instrumentation Diagrams to ensure accurate troubleshooting and repair.
  • Knowledge of computerized maintenance systems (TABWARE) and PC's is required for effective data management and analysis.

Requirements

Required
  • Safety-oriented mindset and strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Strong willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
  • Understanding of basic mathematics and water chemistry principles is essential for effective maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Willingness to work scheduled and non-scheduled overtime as required.
  • Strong teamwork focus and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments with production needs.
Preferred
  • At least 2 years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience.
