About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Counselor to join our team at the City of Reno. As a key member of our Mobile Outreach Safety Team (MOST), you will play a critical role in providing behavioral health services to individuals in crisis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Co-response with law enforcement officers to de-escalate volatile incidents and provide crisis intervention services.
  • Complete welfare checks and engage with individuals in crisis to promote medication compliance, therapy adherence, and access to resources.
  • Provide skilled assessments and develop treatment plans to encourage voluntary use of community resources.
  • Follow up with clients to monitor progress and adjust response plans as needed.
  • Connect individuals in crisis with local resources to provide a long-term support network.
  • Collaborate with local agencies to foster community support for individuals experiencing mental health crises.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, counseling, psychology, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience in clinical case work.
  • Licensure in the State of Nevada to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Clinical Professional Counselor.
